On Saturday April 22nd, the band featured in an epic "Day at the Movies” concert in celebration the 111th Birthday of the fabulous Curzon Cinema Clevedon. The band performed a series of movie music from throughout the decades, which included a selection of blockbuster favourites, plus some tremendous live screened performances of pioneering black & white silent shorts by British film pioneer William Haggar. At the event, the band also gave the English premiere performances of two new movie scores for band, expertly transcribed for brass by the prominent composer | arranger Christopher Painter - firstly, the "Mountain Scene" (from "The Blue Scar") by Grace Williams - the first female composer of music for film - and also a new setting of music from "The Lone Ranger"
The band were delighted to be part of this special celebration for the magnificent Curzon Cinema, and look forward to returning to the venue in December to reprise "The Snowman - Live!", our special one hour Christmas show for families which saw two sell out performances at the Curzon last year Tickets for "The Snowman - Live!" at the Curzon will be available from this summer Comments are closed.
